Catching Up

I am very happy to report that is a very wet morning here in our little corner of Texas. The wonderful rain has been coming down all weekend long and everything is fabulously water logged! There is even a visible difference in the water level of the pond outside of my windows.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Did you?

We went through the woods.....

And over bridges....

There is a 3.2 mile trail in our neighborhood that we walked every day of our Thanksgiving break. These turtles are a just a few of the many residents.

My sister and her family visited but I forgot to take a picture. She probably would prefer I had!  Haha. Their hair is not really that messy. It is just the best I could do with sticks.

This guy showed up for a late night snack because there was no shortage of Things to Eat.

After the festivities were over we got to work.  Mike hung two of my grandmother's chandeliers while I snapped photos. This light went up in our dining room.

And while I was pulling out all the Christmas decorations the boys cleaned this weird little nook over our front door.  It is very high up. I don't quite understand its purpose and I am baffled that it is so difficult to get to, but I do appreciate the light that comes through those windows.  And I am really happy that the boys cleaned the grime off the windows and vacuumed up all the insect carcasses.

And then we put up the tree, decorated the mantle, ate all of our left overs and took our Christmas picture.

Love that you have your grandmother's chandeliers. =)

How cool to have a 3.2 mile wooded trail right out your own door! Very nice.

Thanks so much for stopping by so that I could find my way here. blessings ~ tanna

Must be a window for angels to peek through while "on the wing," so to speak...

I was just thinking about you this weekend and wondering how you were.

We have one of those weird little nooks in our new house. I don't know what I'm going to do with it (excpet dust it everyone once in a long while).

Loved all the photos.

Such a wonderful time of year! I just love all the critters around your place. And either your sister's family is absolutely gorgeous or you are an amazing artist! Stunning, really. ;)

Blessings, Debbie

LOVE seeing your grandmother's gorgeous chandeliers - how precious to be dining / sitting under the same light as your beloved ancestors! SWEET... AND i LOVE getting glimpses of your new home and picturing Boling Life there! btw, Men on Ladders make me *verah verah* nervous. A retired nurse at our church says that 'no one over 55 should be on a ladder'; something about our internal 'dizziness mechanism' [would that be our internal gyroscope that God put there to 'keep us leveled out'?] goes haywire and our head spins and we fall off the ladder. AAACK. Of course, your Fine Men on Ladders aren't there yet! Thanks for the delightful blog and posts, Leslie... I'm always uplifted / educated/ delighted when paying a visit to 'Wayside Sacraments'. I have a similiar window in my foyer. It is quite an ordeal to get up there. Come to think of it we have not done that this year yet!

It sounds like you've had a nice relaxing break! Over here the weather forecasters are predicting water shortages next summer if we don't get lots of rain over the winter, despite the floods in the north. It's been so unseasonably dry and warm until now.

Hi Leslie!
I love your entry! I always wondered about dusting those high places!
Way to go, walking every day!

Sounds like a productive time. The chandeliers are beautiful!

I'm jealous of all your trails. We have some too, but we also have hunters. It's a little dangerous to be hiking the bush these days.

Blessings!
