This week.....
My two youngest children are on a trip with church that is part conference, part mission trip. I am really missing them, so as part distraction, part necessity, and really, part decadence, we decided that while they were gone it would be fun and productive for Mike to take a week off for what we are calling a Paintcation.
A Paintcation is where you spend all your money and time on painting your house.
Day 1: Agonized over paint colors, riddled with indecision, resisted the huge urge to eat Oreos. Paint was bought and our color fate was set in stone. 10 gallons of paint means there is no turning back and I better like it.
Day 2: Mike is on a very tall ladder painting his heart out. I'm blogging and getting ready to go the grocery store. Loving the Paintcation much better than yesterday.
And because it is almost July 4th I have to share one of my favorite pictures of my sweet daddy and my stinker of a little sister. Don't tell her I said that. My daddy loved this country, served in the Army during WWII, and always showed his national pride by displaying a flag.
Better go get busy. Have a blessed 4th!

ReplyDeleteMaybe you SHOULD have an Oreo or six!
What a sweet picture of your patriot papa.
A paintcation is a terrific idea! What color did you choose? My DD is going to move into a new (1970's) home that needs a paintcation and I intend to help her.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of your daddy and your stinker sister and lovable YOU!
I love the notion of a paintcation--we need to take one of those here.
